While the High King masks his monstrosity behind a veil of holy benevolence, Kael uncovers the visceral reality of a genocide through the memories in Sira’s blood. When a subterranean river erupts from the desert floor, she plunges into the abyss, and he leaps after her. Bound by a destiny of sand and sea, their dark romance defies the laws of survival.
